Given Goran’s sexual activities, I suspect that he has quite a few ‘bastard’ kids with other females.

APPEARANCE

Appearance & reputation
An nonchalant sexy guy. Intimidating, strong and powerful but apparently rather social and lazy as fuck. He gives others the impression that he cares about nothing else than only himself, his sexual desires and sleeping. He’s pretty much known as the ‘lazy horny macho’. Luckily his mind is more complex than the first impression that he gives.

His reputation is pretty positive for somebody of the Sætansen family. He still has the reputation of being independent and someone not to mess with even though he is rarely violent. He solves social problems in a nonchalant and sometimes very intimidating way. The fact that he often hangs around in places with many siderians and flirts very frequently with ladies, makes him still one of the most 'social' ones of his family.

Shoulder height: 1,68 m

Physical description

Body: Powerful and harmonious body build with rather evenly distributed heavy, bulky musculature that hides his more refined skeleton. His overall appearance is massive; his shoulders and front legs in particular. His hindquarters are proportionally rather narrow. Average to long tail and average sized paws. He has a tiger-like curved spine and a typical heavy, tiger-like walk. Usually he walks quite nonchalant  (flat and shuffling) with his head low. Only when he wants to impress the ladies he raises his head and shows his powerful steps more elegantly.

Head:  A convex profile with a little ‘dip’ between the eyes. Typical shape of his occiput, with a little arch (exactly like Stian). High placed, pointy ears which are tilted slightly forward. Slanting, bright blue eyes and typical triangle shaped eyebrows. Quite a heavy muzzle and typical shaped lower jaw, just like his brother. Quite big but not bulky whisker pads.

Fur: black shiny fur with a little warm-blue metallic sheen. Bluish silver white in his face, on his throat, underside of his chest and tail. Fur structure is a little bit similar to a border collie but lies flatter. The hair at the underside of his chest is very long. Long very sleek mane, which falls even over his shoulder blades. Two rows of dense fur at the side of his jaws, one that goes in front of his ears and one behind. Small beard. Longhair on his forehead, which naturally lies flat and is directed forward, but he artificially creates a (backwards pointing) Mohawk of it.

Jewelry & accessories
Spike earring on the outside of his left ear and three earrings on the right inside of his ear. One eyebrow piercing and probably one more piercing …in a very intimate place.  A narrow spike bracelet and a wide spike bracelet with an inverted pentagram. Big steel chain with nearly square links.

PERSONALITY & CHARACTER

Personality and mannerisms:

Personality and mannerisms:

MBTI personality type: ENFP - A (the campaigner/champion) - although he has all his cognitive functions quite well developed, which makes him overall a very balanced person.

As described earlier, he comes across as a lazy horny macho. Sex, sleeping and eating seem to be the only things on his mind and the first impression he gives, is that he’s quite stupid and slow of comprehension. His broken grammar and simple word-choice, often flavored with dirty, sex-tented swearwords, doesn’t improve that impression either. He sleeps a lot and is not keen on any physical activity, except some occasional strength training and some necessary hunting (he has a big appetite). Often times, he lies lazily and silently on the background, observing others (mostly sexy females) without interacting much.

He comes across as careless and seems not interested in anything else than females and sex. Generally he has a ‘fuck it’ attitude.  When he needs to tell someone a message, he does it in his usual intimidating way by standing way too close in someone else’s personal space and looking intensely in someone’s eyes. He can be skeptical and is sometimes rather rude and impolite, mainly due to his frequent swearing and his rather indifferent, naïve attitude. He lacks any manners and has no dignity- so you can find him in any ‘embarrassing’ pose, just right in front of other siderians. He doesn’t care and gladly shows his male parts to the ladies. Many sideresses find him too provocative, oversexed and rather annoying. He’s not very subtle when he flirts and does quite some ‘cat-calling’ which may have resulted several bitch-slaps. Only the very horny females like to hang around him a lot.

However, there is another side in him that grew more pronounced with age. Despite his lack of mannerisms, fuck it-attitude, laziness and simple-mindedness, he’s actually a lot wiser and more social than the first impression he gives. To those who know him, he’s rather kind and funny in a sarcastic way. He’s quite good at making friends, especially with other funny-minded (macho) males and has a deep social insight and empathy (although he doesn’t act much upon it when he has sex in mind). His life-wisdom comes out in dire, stressful situations. He is very good at placing things in perspective and always manages to keep his head cool, thereby being a rock of support for other siderians. He’s emotionally very stable and with his careless-fuck-it-attitude, he actually helps others to get through difficult situations.

He’s a lot more empathic and understanding of other’s emotions than he initially shows and when he sees that someone truly needs help or support, he gives it and he knows surprisingly well how. He knows very well how to encourage others when really needed. If he sees someone in life-threatening danger, he actually risks a lot to save them – even those whom he doesn’t really know. Despite his careless impression, he has a strong hidden feeling of care and responsibility. The many lives that he has saved, make up for his otherwise rather annoying, provocative flirting….
He is a true hero at heart.

Type of humor: very sex-tinted and sarcastic. Even goofy in some ways, but there is no joke coming out of Goran’s mouth that has no link to sex.

Voice, manner of speaking
His voice is difficult to describe and I only have one reference from a certain Dutch movie. Otherwise the voice of his great-grandfather Håkan comes rather close. His voice is not very low nor deep but has a little bit of a rough texture. He talks kinda ‘flat’ without much intonation and has the tendency to mumble.

His word choice is nonchalant and not very subtle, often flavored with swearwords. His grammar and pronunciation are often quite off, which makes him sometimes hard to understand. Somehow I hear him with a bit of a Slavic accent, but I don’t know how that would translate to siderian language (which is an advances spoken language that includes derivatives of common feline sounds)

Musical themes – see his sketchdump: www.deviantart.com/felisglacia…

Sexuality: heterosexual. Oversexed and polygamous like feck. Sometimes it seems that sex is the only thing that he has in his mind.

Spirituality and philosophy: he doesn’t give spirituality much thought but he is very aware of the circle of life and reincarnation of souls. In fact, he knows that his soul is very ancient and that he has seen many (spiritual) worlds and life-forms, which gives him this life-wisdom. Only rarely, he talks about that when he needs to support someone else.  His philosophy is pretty much just “live ze day” and some of his ‘deeper quotes’ “life ijz juzt a phase”. He sees the grand-picture and is not bothered by daily life issues- he knows how to find the inner peace of his soul.

Aesthetics: sta.sh/02dfm3dls244

Fears: he’s usually rather careless and emotionally stable but there is one thing he does fear: losing his younger brother Stian; the last sibling he has.
Dreams:
he just carries on with life and enjoys the very basic things of life as an animal; sex, eating and sleeping.

Interest, hobbies, occupation:
His major interests are obviously having sex, eating and sleeping. Occasionally he likes hanging around with friends and of course he flirts a lot with females. If he’s not sleeping but just being lazy, he likes to hang around on the siderian information system Intellithos (a sort of ecal based network that is a bit like internet). If siderians have some equivalent of porn, Goran has certainly found it and spends most of his lazing-time on it.  Otherwise, he does some explosive fighting training once in a while, to keep his muscles and reflexes up to date. He likes throwing blades as well, and is actually quite good at it.

Once he joins his brother Stian in the Fjordland Force to fight humans, he takes various roles. He gets involved in making some weapons, mostly blades, and does some of the logistics concerning ecals. However, since he’s not really the ‘smartest’ with battle insight and all, he had to find something else that he was truly good at: saving wounded siderians from the battle field. That was something that gave him much more satisfaction. He became the chief of the ‘rescue team’ and had thereby saved many, many siderian lives.

Special skills: his life-wisdom and overall fuck-it attitude makes him so emotionally stable that he can support many other siderians with it.

STORY -   WARNING-SPOILERS FOR THE NOVEL(S) THAT I MIGHT ONCE WRITE ABOUT HIM

Two happy siblings

Goran was born on the Sætansen lands – when his crazy, genius grandfather Matthias was head of the family. When he was a little over one year old, he got a sister named Stígana (Tiga) and as soon as she could walk too, he found the perfect playmate in her. She was bold and curious and never hesitated to challenge him for a playfight or another game. The first years of Goran’s life were quiet and he was an easy going cub. His parents quickly figured that he never wandered off or caused trouble, in contrast to his much bolder and more curious sister.  Occasionally, he played with his slightly younger cousin Ravn as well. At the learning ground (a kind of siderian ‘school’) in the nearby metacluster MistFjord, Goran quickly made new friends he but still felt closest to his sister. However, when Goran was around 7-8 years old, he already developed a special interest in female cubs although he didn’t yet understand why. Sometimes they distracted him from watching over Tiga when their parents were away. Then he often found his sister somewhere else, led away by her own curiosity.

The snare

One day ( Goran was around 8), when both cubs were back in their Homelands, his mother Mara left for hunting. His father Morten was away for several days to patrol the territory borders. Goran and Tiga were to stay together and wait for their mother to return. For a short moment, Goran got distracted and Tiga had wandered off alone. He went after her but what he found, made his heart skip a few beats. Tiga was franticly fighting a tight snare around her waist. Bewildered, Goran tried to help but couldn’t get her out. By the time that their mother returned, it was already too late. She freed Tiga but she died of internal bleedings soon after. Goran felt guilty about his failure to watch over her. Despite Mara’s initial emotional outbreak toward him, she told him that it was not his fault. However, it didn’t take away his sorrow and the thoughts that he could have prevented it. His father had suddenly stayed away as well, giving him the feeling that his happy childhood just fell to pieces. Even his aunt Malta had suddenly left and taken his cousin Ravn along with her. He was very confused and wondered what danger had caused this sudden drama. The only answer he got was ‘humans’, without further explanations.

Another brother

Goran didn’t know that his mother was already pregnant of a third kitten, who got born in a cold winter night. He was delighted by the birth of his little white brother Stian. Although, the age difference (Goran was 9 already) made it difficult to play with little Stian but he was determined to stay close to his brother and take care for him while Mara was hunting. Finally, his father returned as well but Goran had never understood why he had left in the first place. As Stian grew up, their parents became busy with all kinds of things that he didn’t have a clue about. It was human- and neighbour-related but he  didn’t really follow their business. All that was important to him was to stay with Stian and keep him safe. Goran noticed that his brother was as curious and adventurous as Tiga but much colder and more distant; as if he didn’t want Goran close all the time. However, the moments that they watched the Northern Lights together, were so precious that he didn’t care about Stian’s coldness.

The return of his cousins

When Goran was 12 years old,  he was happily surprised by the return of his aunt Malta and his cousin Ravn. Even more so was he surprised that she brought along a second cub,  the 3-4 years old Yava, who was born while Malta was away.  Yava was of Stian’s age and the two got along well. Goran often watched over them while they explored together. His parents were getting more occupied with other things and he still felt the need to watch over Stian when they were gone. However, with Stian’s growing independence, Goran allowed himself to get distracted by sideresses and discover his sexual interests when they were in MistFjord. Especially when they stayed in the metacluster, he trusted Stian enough to let him explore alone, although he kept a close eye on him. Only when the older neighbouring cub Bjørn occasionally bullied Stian, Goran stepped in.

Stian disappeared

When he was around 16 years old, he spend more time with females around the metacluster, rather than that he watched over Stian (who was 7-8). That was further reinforced by the fact that Stian was tall and strong for his age and with his confident attitude, Goran trusted him. It was normal that they didn’t see each other for a day or two. Only when Yava came to tell him that she couldn’t find Stian after about a few days, he noticed that something was wrong and warned his parents. Déjà vus of Tiga came back and he felt bad that his responsibility had failed again. They searched for months without any sign of Stian. Goran heard that another cub had disappeared too, roughly around the same time. It was granddaughter of the metacluster coordinator and the sister of Bjørn, the cub who bullied Stian once in a while. With the help of his genius grandfather, they finally managed to find Stian’s possible location; somewhere in the human settlement nearby. His parents prepared a plan to save Stian and Goran was to wait in MistFjord when his parents -covered in armor- sat out a rescue mission. Rarely did had he felt so nervous as now…

After waiting for something that felt like eternity, Morten returned, bleeding and limping, carrying Stian on his back. His little brother was nothing more than skin and bone. He was covered in wounds and looked so exhausted that he could barely hold on to his father’s armor. No matter what, the happiness to see his brother back was hard to control but Mara commanded Goran to stay at a distance while Morten brought Stian to a healer.

Growing independence and distracting ladies

In the months after, Stian recovered but he had changed a lot. He didn’t let anyone close except Mara and remained silent, cold an distant. He had never told anyone what had happened. Goran also realized that the other cub who had gone missing, had never returned. As time passed, Stian slowly got back to his old explorative and confident self but Goran noticed that his brother remained rather cold towards him. He got the impression that Stian’s pride was growing and that he felt uncomfortable with the fact that Goran had seen so much. He could only respect this and just silently watch over him from a distance. Now, he was determined to make sure that nothing would happen to Stian anymore.

However, there was one thing that kept distracting him badly; sideresses. He was only 16 when he first mated and he got quite addicted to sex. Only when he noticed that Bjørn had yet again bullied Stian, he got his focus away from the ladies to threaten Bjørn behind Stian’s back.

Stian was growing fast and when he reached puberty, the relation between them changed. He became even colder and the moments that they engaged in a little play-fight got less and less. Only during the fighting-training sessions given by their father, they got in closer contact. Goran had also noticed that Stian regularly visited their mysterious grandfather Matthias. He himself was still mostly occupied with flirting and mating but he had felt the human-threat coming nearer as well. He suspected that Stian’s secretive, cold behavior and regular visits to their grandfather had something to do with that. When Stian was becoming a strong, young adult (18-19), Goran (who was now in the end of his twenties) allowed himself to stray away a little more in search for pretty sideresses who were willing to mate. He had wandered to another metacluster, a month walking away to try his luck there.

Stian was gone again

When he hung around on Intellithos (a sort of metaphysical, crystal based siderian equivalent of internet), he received a worrisome message from Yava, who was still very close to Stian. There had been severe territory conflicts between their family and the Nivalis neighbours (who coordinate the cluster MistFjord). They had attacked the Sætansen lands and accused them for having murdered Bjørn. The most shocking news was that Stian was once again gone, without having left any traces. Goran felt still rather chill about it and his nonchalant attitude overrode the unpleasant gut-feeling that was still lurking underneath. It was a mystery what happened and when he returned, he still felt the tension in the air. Yava was very worried that Stian had somehow died in this conflict too, but Goran’s subconsciousness told him otherwise, especially because Bjørn usually led the bullying of Stian. Meanwhile, all kinds of stories spread though the metacluster about Bjørns death, and several accusations went to his family.

Goran and Yava searched for Stian without result. When Goran heard the rumour that Thalarctos, Bjørns father, had sworn to kill Stian and had was gone too, he got more worried. His feeling of responsibility for his younger brother kicked in and he saw no other way than to search until he had found him. He had no idea what direction to go and Yava suggested to visit their genius grandfather, since Stian was close to him. “Humans. That’s what he’s after” was the only thing Matthias said and Goran felt rather clueless. All he could do, was speak to as many siderians as possible to get any hints about possible sightings.

Searching for a needle in a haystack

Goran had left the homelands to search for Stian but stayed in contact with Yava, through intellithos as much as possible. Finally, someone told him about an unfamiliar big white male who was spotted in the North of the Fjordlands. He didn’t know whether this was Stian or Thalarctos (who was big and white too) and just followed the hints. Unfortunately, without any result. Yava consulted Matthias regularly, who only came with some riddles which she communicated to Goran over Intellithos. The riddles gave Goran at least a clue of direction.

When he passed by the siderian metacluster ‘the Glacier’, in the North, on the border between the Lakelands and Fjordlands (north Sweden), he picked up the news that a well-known old shaman named Naoidi had suddenly been shot dead by humans. Some other siderians had disappeared lately and some had seen a fire in the nearby human settlement. The news confused Goran but he had the nagging feeling that Stian had somehow been involved and had gotten himself in trouble again. Asking other siderians and searching for any signs of Stian’s involvement brought him no clarification and he continued his search without much cause of direction. He wandered and wandered and occasionally he got some hint from somebody who had seen a big white guy. Goran was actually not fond of walking such long distances at all but he saw it as a bit of an adventure and he took every opportunity to mate with sexually interested sideresses… sometimes to the extent that he nearly forgot about his mission to find his brother.

Mysterious hints about siderian- human conflicts

Over the years, occasional hints from either Yava, other siderians or obscure news on Intellithos brought him far away from his native territory in the Fjordlands. He strayed off, all the way from the Lakelands (Sweden and Finland) to the Lowland coast (coastline of Europe), down to the Ape Hills (central Europe). He talked with many other siderians and began to get more of an idea about what Stian was doing. Vague stories about siderians having attacked humans or even entire human settlements, made him suspicious about what Matthias once said: “Humans. That is what he was after”.  Every time that Goran passed by a metacluster (once every few months), he contacted Yava, who was still on the Sætansen lands. Together with her, they combined all clues and tried to reveal a pattern that could tell them where Stian was and what he was doing. It was a mystery, but Goran was pretty sure about one thing; Stian was still alive.

On track

During his stay in the Lowlands and Ape Hills, he noticed how siderians here were very wary of humans. Everybody seemed to live in constant fear. And once he got to see why; when he stumbled upon a sideress stuck in a snare trap. He saved her just in time before the approaching humans would shoot them both. But that was not the only human danger; poison was another thing the locals warned him for. Once he smelled something suspicious just after he had eaten a bit from his own kill.  Thanks to the warnings, he abandoned his kill immediately but felt horribly sick afterwards. That close, the dangers were and he wondered why the siderians here just accepted this and lived in fear without taking action against such invasive competitors. He pondered over Stian’s thoughts as well and what drove him to travel so far away. Goran only knew that humans had captured his little brother once but that was it. Stian’s closed personality didn’t really help but Goran began to get the feeling that whatever humans had done to Stian, it had touched him deeply. Something in him just understood his little brother and yet it was a mystery where he was, why he left home and what he was doing. The severity of the human problem here, could be a clue but he failed to put the puzzle pieces together.

Finally, after six years of wandering, he heard the convincing news that he was waiting for. There had been a rampage in a human town and someone had seen a big white male whose description roughly matched with Stian. Goran strongly suspected that this was Stian and not Thalarctos. He was quite far away and hurried towards the area in which the incident happened. However, it was a long journey and he was quite far behind. Hopefully, Stian didn’t slip through his paws again.

Defeated

Once arrived, other siderians gave him clear clues about the big white male who matched the description rather well. He got hopeful again and fanatically searched, ignoring the gut-feeling that something didn’t feel right. He got on track and finally saw a big white guy in the distance. But before he realized it, he was surrounded by other males. The white one was Thalarctos who told him that he was responsible for Stian’s death. Humans had shot Stian after Thalarctos had lured him into a trap. The other males attacked Goran and had beaten him badly, telling him how he failed to protect his brother. Goran didn’t believe them, and continued his search despite the injuries of this fight. He searched and searched, without any results. Only more rumours from other siderians confirmed that Thalarctos was indeed right and that the white, foreign trouble-maker had been killed. Goran wandered around for several more months, refusing to believe the rumours. But the lack of any more possible signs of Stian brought him to the painful acceptation that his brother was gone. Devastated, he decided to finally return to the Fjordlands. After several months traveling, he came back, only to realize that the human problems had intensified at home as well. Even his aunt Malta had been shot. She had survived, but many other Fjordlanders had not. Together with Yava, he discussed what may have driven Stian to do what they suspected he did. But it hurt Goran only more to realize that if Stian indeed tried to fight humans, that his death was in vain. One thing he and Yava failed to understand; and that was why Stian went so far away while the human problem was here too. But it didn’t matter anymore; their beloved family member was gone.

A spark of hope

No one had ever dared to hope it, but a little year later, Matthias hinted to Yava to check the news around the Sabertooth Mountains (Himalayas). Someone had published a careful analyses of the human problems from places where may have Stian been. The publication was anonymous but they immediately recognized Stian’s style. All cues pointed towards the fact that Stian was alive and staying in the metacluster Mimicry. Goran could no longer rest, he had to go there and find him, but it would be several years travelling on foot. Matthias recommended to visit a glider specialist (Adler) in the cluster Notochord, which was much closer. In exchange for one of Matthias’ genius ecal readers, Adler traded him a ecal-powered glider and taught him how to fly it. Meanwhile Goran got a little distracted by an attractive, odd-looking very pretty red lady who stared intently at him. However, he had to focus and struggled a lot to get the glider airborne and keep the right direction. But time was pressing and he was forced to learn quickly. He flew his way to Mimicry but Stian was nowhere to be found. However, some sideresses described having mated with a white, foreign male who matched exactly with Stian. But yet again, he was gone as if evaporated without any traces. Goran circled around the area for another year without success and wandered off to Siberia where he had picked up a cue which turned out to be false. Thoughts to return home crossed his mind again, along with ideas to visit world’s biggest metacluster Mystery Mountain (in Alaska). But then, finally he could say with confidence that Stian was spotted right there and Goran travelled as fast as he could towards Mystery Mountain.

Landing in Mystery Mountain

Siderians in Mystery Mountain indeed spoke of a white foreigner but said that he only passed by quickly and had already left long ago. Disappointed, Goran settled down there and tried to locate him with world’s best ecal network. Stian was somewhere on this continent and he had the suspicion that his brother might return here. He contacted Yava and convinced her to travel to Mystery Mountain as well. Many siderians need to have seen this place at least once in their lifetime and Goran told her that it was worth it. For two more years, they stayed there and tried to learn about Stian’s possible whereabouts. Meanwhile, Goran satisfied his sexual desires and he could finally allow himself to be lazy again. Life was good here… To his great surprise, he saw the red sideress whom he had met in Notochord again; her name was Rubi and she was very interested in him. That was mutual and he mated with her a lot more often than with any other sideress. They talked about their past and Rubi told him about the adventures with her old friends Jerald and Tristan. Eventually she also told him how humans had shot her sister…

A tense reunion

One day, Yava approached him tensely. She was very sure to have seen Stian, right in the outskirts of the metacluster. That was 17 years after Stian had left home. Goran’s happiness mingled with growing tension and he and agreed that Yava should approach Stian first, since she was closest to him. Stian was now fully grown and had changed a lot. He was not pleased by their surprising presence; he was so cold and tense that he lashed out at Goran and a fight broke out between the brothers. Stian yielded but refused Goran’s offer for support and said that he didn’t need his big brother watching him; he could manage his human-fighting missions on his own. Tension remained but Goran’s and Yava’s persistent arguments eventually reached Stian. They saw the human problem too. All they wanted was to support Stian in his course. This is a global problem and they have to stand together against this common enemy. Eventually, that motivated Stian to think of a proper organization and together with Goran, they began to gather others and spread the urgent message through arranged meetings.

Meanwhile, Goran’s relation with Rubi became more serious. Even Yava and Stian had found a mate, which confirmed the commonly known joke of Mystery Mountain being ‘Mating Mountain’. Goran, Yava and Stian stayed there for a year to recruit other siderians for their organization but didn’t convince many. Only a handful of siderians wanted to join the fight and they decided to travel back to their homelands to try there. Goran got very well along with Yava’s mate Falkner, which made the travels and adventures very pleasant, despite his preference for laziness.

A new mission ahead with a turbulent start
Once back home on the Sætansen family lands, the tension rose between their father Morten and Stian. Morten suspected that the old neighbour-issues and murder of Bjørn were due to Stian’s actions. However, the family was quickly convinced by Stian’s plans to deal with the more urgent and severe problems of human competition on their lands. They supported him fully and Goran no longer left Stian’s side. (See: Plotting... )The attachment to his brother was indestructible, even though it was not mutual. Stian had only told Goran fragments of what had happened, but he never said what humans had really done to him.  Goran’s deeper understanding of Stian as a person told him enough and he knew how to respect his pride and yet stay close. He knew his brother as independent how to get around Stian’s sensitivities for humiliation and loss of control.

Settling in the North

Many siderians in MistFjord supported Stian’s ideas and were willing to join the organization that they now called the Fjordland Force. In the time that Goran was away, many siderians from the Lowlands had fled to the North to escape from the intense competition with humans. Many were now motivated to fight back for their existence. The Fjordland Force quickly came to be and the first plans were made, led by General Stian. But first, Stian wanted to settle on a permanent territory near a metacluster offshoot in the (safer) North and execute his first mission there. Goran and his girlfriend Rubi followed and settled in a neighboring territory. The Fjordland Force’s first attack on the nearby human village was successful but not long after, Yava (who had also moved North) brought Goran the news that Stian was shot on his own homeland. Fortunately, he recovered and resumed the mission to eradicate all humans from the surroundings, including the ones who didn’t live in towns and were no direct threat.

Rubi got pregnant of their first kitten as well and soon their daughter Lori was born. Goran was aware of the fact that he may have kids with other unfamiliar females, but to see a kitten from his permanent mate, was different.  Now, he knew what it truly means to be a father. A few years later, she gave birth to two sons; Ruben who was red like her and Helgar, who was pitch-black. When the cubs were small, Rubi stayed mostly home while Goran still participated in every mission that Stian arranged.

Goran becoming the rescuer

The Fjordland Force was quickly growing in numbers and their effort began to pay off. Goran made many friends and enjoyed flirting with sideresses when the Force was gathered. He took different roles in Force but he was mostly just a helping paw and served as Stian’s advisor. He rarely, if ever, joined the vanguard to kill humans but stayed at the sidelines, making sure that the others could execute their actions. As the missions intensified, he realized how close death and suffering came.  Despite the development of a proper armor and a good healing-department, many siderians lost their lives. Many whom Goran saw as friends. He kept his head cool but he found that he didn’t agree with Stian’s principle of “those who fall behind, are left behind”. Instead, he often returned for the fallen ones and brought them to the healers. He was thereby the initiative taker and leader of the rescue group (sort of red-cross). He had gained quite some respect with his rescue activities and had saved many lives. That made others a little more forgiving for his sometimes too provocative flirting.

As soon as Goran- and Rubi’s kids were old enough to walk longer distances, Rubi joined as well and brought the kids along in the well-patrolled traveling camps. The Fjordland Force was still rapidly growing in numbers and the missions intensified. Goran noticed how much of a heavy load this was on his brother. There was no single mission that Stian did not lead as a General and Goran knew that, deep down, all Stian wanted was to roam the world independently of anybody. It hurt him to realize how humans ruined Stian’s dreams and forced him to wear himself out.

Danger was never far

The missions were dangerous and that became evident when fire and chaos broke out and humans were shooting around everywhere. The force retreated but Goran noticed that Stian and his father were missing. After something that felt like eternity, Stian returned, followed by Morten who was heavily injured. Healers patched his father up but he went back to the Sætansen homelands to rest there. However, he never recovered. In fact, over the last two years, he only got worse. Fortunately, the Force had safeguarded the areas enough to allow for calmer times. Goran and Stian travelled back to their old family lands to visit their dying father for one last time.

After a calmer period, they resumed the missions and planned an attack on the bigger human settlement, near the siderian cluster MistFjord. They had not enough resources and Goran joined Stian and a few others on an expedition to the metacluster Notochord, where they would search for reinforcement. That was without success and Stian nearly got himself killed in a fight with Notochord’s cluster coordinator Ferrus. However, Ferrus was the one who paid with his life. Other siderians there did not support the violence against humans and the Force returned empty-handed. Goran was 61 when the Force launched a full attack on this human settlement, again without success. It only made the humans angry and they tried to attack the siderian cluster MistFjord in return. Only now, Goran joined the vanguard in full armor and attacked whatever human he could get hold of. (see: We defend what is ours ) The cluster was theirs and they stood ground. But humans didn’t stop there and travelled north to find Stian’s headquarter. The Force successfully eradicated the threat and continued with some missions in the North to safeguard the area completely. But surprises always lurked around. When Rubi and her friend Mineuh were hunting around one of the Force’s camps, they got suddenly surprised by human hunters on snowmobiles; they were chasing the same reindeer herd. Chaos broke out and gunshots were fired at the sideresses. Goran was nearby and rushed to them as fast as he could (see: The hero ). He tried to knock the snowmobiles over in full speed while gunshots banged from all sides. In a frantic attempt to evade the bullets, he jumped down a steep slope. But it was too late. He was hit and the slope was much steeper than he thought. Trees broke the fall but he lost consciousness. When he woke up, he found himself painfully hanging in a tree with a bleeding shot wound in his upper arm. Rubi and Mineuh were safe and the humans were gone. Eventually he limped to the healers and recovered quickly.

The Fjordland Force had again aimed the big human settlement next to MistFjord and had gathered in the area near the old Sætansen family lands. This time, it was Goran’s grandfather Matthias who could not escape the bullets. He was very old and had forgotten his armor when he strayed away from the patrolled areas to perform his whatever-experiments. Goran was on patrol and brought him to the healers, but it was too late and his grandfather died a few days later. The death of Matthias was a great shock for the Force. He was a genius until his last breath. Many times, his insight and advice had miraculously turned the odds in their favor. Sadly, the attempt to clear this human town again failed and Matthias was not the only one who died. After a few years of planning and research, the Force tried again, finally with success. That was a great victory and the central Fjordlands were finally safer. Stian led the Force to the southern Fjordlands and successfully cleared the bigger human settlements. When Goran was around 80 years old, they went to the biggest human town in the Fjordlands and Lakelands. This was the biggest mission ever done by the Force and everybody was tense. It was a struggle and chaos was constantly near but the Force won the battle. However, a high price had to be paid. Goran lost a few dear friends and Stian lost his brave daughter Siri in the battle. But still, they could speak of victory and finally, they could get back to their normal lives without constantly risking to get shot, poisoned or trapped by humans.

No rest

Goran also moved back to his own homeland and enjoyed the time with Rubi and his grand-children. Finally, calmer times followed, but Stian was still restless and Goran stood by his side when he continued to monitor the ruins of the human settlements in the North. The General could never rest and Goran could only wish for Stian to find some peace. During one of the smaller scouting missions, Stian’s mate Vivanna came to Goran in panic; Stian was shot again by small-game hunters and was bleeding heavily. Goran had to come over to help Yava and Vivanna (both healers) save him. Stian went through the eye of the needle and Goran realized that his brother’s odds might once turn against him. He quickly suppressed that nagging thought.

The worst nightmare

They continued with some small scouting missions after this incident, but they also allowed for a few years of rest family time. However, humans continuously returned and tried to claim their ruined towns back. Goran (now 86) joined Stian’s subdivision of the Force to investigate the ruins and launch small attacks where needed. The Fjordland Force was in control and they hardly felt any human threat nearby. And so they thought during a scouting mission to an old industrial area… Stian raised the alarm over their intellithos-communicators, while Goran patrolled the sidelines. Nothing to worry about Goran thought; Stian sounded in control and just moved to another area, away from the approaching humans. Gunshots sounded in the area – nothing new during missions – and Goran trusted Stian’s survival skills and good armor. But the more time passed, the more he realized that something was wrong. One of the vanguard officers called for Goran and the other patrols. The mission was over. There was a death silence. “The General…had fallen…” the officer said and it took a few seconds before the words reached Goran. Despite the serious, emotion struck expression of the officers, he couldn’t belief it. He had to see his brother. Immediately. He followed the officers to where Stian was lying. As the air cleared up, he saw what he had feared throughout his entire life. Stian’s lifeless body, covered in blood and bullet holes. His beloved brother for whom he dedicated his entire life to support and safeguard…was dead. The General who had led them through so many battles and always survived. Deep down…Goran knew that one day, his brother’s luck would run out but he always refused to let that thought in. Now that day had come. Goran had always picked the fallen ones from the battlefield, but never had he dared to think that once, he would carry the body of his beloved brother away. Together with Stian’s son Jay, they brought him back to the camp to pay him a last tribute. Only now, Goran’s rock solid emotions collapsed. Once he was alone with Stian’s body, he crawled against his cold skin. Stian never allowed him near, no matter how much Goran wanted a closer relation with his brother. Only now, he had the chance to touch the one he loved the most.
Fall of a Legend

A haze of sorrow

The months after passed by in a haze and Goran got engulfed by intense sorrow and depression. He had hardly noticed that Stian’s daughter Ekster got badly injured in her attempt to defend her father and that Stian’s closest friend Toro had taken over the lead as General. He could hardly eat and lost a lot of weight. It was his mother Mara (who was still alive) and his mate Rubi who gave him the support to carry on. Mara too, was broken by the death of her youngest son and this brought him closer to his mother again. Goran, the firstborn, was now the last one of the siblings left.

The new General

As time passed, Goran got over the worst sorrow and became his old, goofy and horny self again. Ekster had also recovered and was now the new General of the Force.  But Goran was worried about her. She lacked the caution that Stian had and was even more rage-driven and reckless than her father. Goran was feeling the age creep up on him but he still joined every mission as a rescuer. The intensity of the missions got less as the siderians gained ground and Goran could enjoy the time with his (great) grandchildren. Stian’s last born grandchild Rose, had grown a lot and it stung him to realize how proud Stian would have been of her. Goran also took well care of his old mother Mara, who eventually died of old age, thirteen years after Stian’s death.

Goran’s last actions as rescuer

Some of the missions continued and danger was never fully gone. Ekster’s brutal approach and rage continued to worry Goran and indeed the inevitable happened. Goran jumped infront of her to shield her from an explosion but it didn’t prevent the terrible injury. She was crippled for life and could no longer work as General. This had also taken a toll on Goran’s old body but he persistently continued his role as rescuer under the lead of one of Ekster’s children. Only when he nearly collapsed himself, while carrying a wounded siderian away, he knew that it was time to retire. At an age of 115 (85 in human years), he returned to his home territory in the North and visited the places that carried memories of Stian.
Everything fades to gray

Well-deserved rest

He enjoyed the time with his- and Stian’s little descendants and liked to tell the cubs scary stories about the adventures in the Force. One of the cubs was little Bynkah, Rose’s daughter and Stian’s great-granddaughter. She was brave and bold like Stian and was never scared of Goran’s stories. She was so fascinated with Stian and the Sætansen family that Goran promised to show her the old Sætansen lands further south, as soon as she was 6 years old and able to travel. Goran was now 128 years old and saw this as his final journey. With the help of his own children, he managed to make the long journey with his old bones. His youngest son Helgar and Stian’s first born son Stállo were now the heads of the old Sætansen Fortress.  Once there, Goran took little Bynkah to the deepest, most secret places of the ancient family Fortress where all the relics rest. He showed her the memorials of one of her favorites; the Dark One; Håkan Sætansen, Goran’s great-grandfather. With this journey, Goran felt that he had fulfilled the last mission of his life. But against all odds, he felt fit enough to join the journey back to the North where Stian’s family lineage had settled. Goran thought that maybe, this is where he truly belonged…

As he approached 130 (100 in human years), his health was falling seriously back and he felt the end coming nearer. His daughter Lori took good care of him and he enjoyed every single moment of his last years. Seeing the cubs play happily around, told him that Stian’s death and fighting was not in vain. With peace in his soul, he could rest. When Goran was 132 years old, Rose brought Bynkah along for another visit; of which Goran knew, was the last one.

At the journey’s end
On a peaceful morning in late October, he said to his daughter Lori not to follow him anymore but to pick up his piercings once he was gone. This was his final journey. Memories of his long, long life passed by in a haze and yet they were clear as the day of yesterday. Every step through the snow got heavier and as the winter sun was setting, he lied down on the moss under an old tree. He looked over the vast Northern valley for a last time. As the sun touched upon the snowy mountains, he laid down his head and closed his eyes, letting the peace engulf him. His heart slowed down and as the first star emerged, he let out his last breath. A golden eagle flew over and a flare of the Auroras welcomed his soul back to his beloved brother.
